This quiet, elegant residential neighborhood in Paris's 7th arrondissement is named for the historic École Militaire complex, still in use today as a military training center. In addition to a wealth of bars, cafes, and restaurants the area is home to the Hôtel des Invalides, a refuge for disabled French war veterans that is now a military museum where visitors can explore the exhibits or on sunny days bring a picnic lunch and sit on the esplanade. École Militaire is also home to the Rodin Museum, set in the Hotel Biron where the sculptor lived. Some of Rodin's most famous works are set outside in the museum's beautiful garden.
